Where A World Is A Place To Creativity by Genevieve Cadwell

Once upon a time, there was a lighthouse. And in the lighthouse was a magical pen. This pen, could write by itself. But if someone else wrote with the pen, anything they wrote would go to a magic land.

You see, the lighthouse and the pen were a team. A team that needed to stick together.

The lighthouse lit up the way to a mystical world. A world that no human has ever reached. A world where no human could reach. But in this mystical world, were things that were written. Written by this magical pen.

All things were fine until one day.

A nice little girl, with a head full of stories, was skipping down a dirt path. Then she saw the lighthouse.

She went in the open door and up the long, dark, twisty stairs. All the way to the tippy-top. But at the room at the tippy-top, was where the pen sat.

The little, curious girl saw the pen and started to write.

Suddenly, the lighthouse light started flashing. The written world was in danger! But the child, lost deep in thought, saw no flashing lights behind, only her story in front of her. But the pen still couldn't be in her hand. She had to stop writing!

Meanwhile, in storyland, some new characters were being made. There became a gorilla and a chipmunk. A squirrel and a rocketship. This child had a humongous imagination.

But at the lighthouse, pen still worried. But really, was anything extremely intense happening in storyland? Were things out of control? NO!!!

At the lighthouse, the little girl finished her epic story about animals flying to the moon.

But after she wrote the story, she found the lighthouse quite boring. So she decided to leave.
Once the little girl was far away from the lighthouse, the pen started writing.

The pen wrote a more informal story then usual. But it fit the occasion perfectly. In the story, the main character, Odessa, is specifically told to check on the magical storyland her world has. Then she is told to write about how well storyland was going. Then she is supposed to turn that experience into a letter. And she should send that letter to a magic pen.

So a very anxious pen, and a very anxious lighthouse, went to sleep.

The next morning, a letter came in the mail. The letter was addressed to pen.

Dear Pen,
I was given great orders to help your magical world. Here is my report. All storyland is safe and sound. I was extremely proud to receive these orders. I hope I have served you well.
Sincerely,
Odessa

And with that, Pen and lighthouse, relaxed. All was well in the wonderworld.
